Many players don't like spending much time for trading. We like to play instead .

My suggestion:

Introduce an auction system.

It could work like this:
-Seller puts his/her item in an auction box with the following input:
--Starting price
--How many hours the action will be up
--Eventualy a buy at once price
--Eventualy a (secred) minimum price (item wont sell when the ending bid is lower)
-Bidder sets a starting bid and a (secret) max. bid. The max. bid's gold is set apart for the duration of the auction. Whenever someone offers more gold your bid will automaticly be raised until your max. bid is reached. Eventually the bidder gets an ingame messege.

After the auction:
The auction program simply transfers the gold from the buyer to the seller and changes the items owner status from the seller to the buyer; The buyer opens the auction box and the item is there waiting for him/her.

Personalized items cant be traded.
Of course the normal ingame trading will still be possible.

great idea.

problem:

too much bandwidth and processing power needed. This is one of those "I wish this game had a monthly fee" situations, because this feature would be in already.

Maybe there's a way to limit and make it not too wide. Let's say you have an auction in one district. ie. I'm in dist 2, I put up an item up for auction. And only people in dist 2 can see those items.

However, if all else fails, come back to here and post up your stuff.

If you would have used the search function, you would have known that.

Still, I think I recall in one of the discussions, that they "are working on it," meaning, no matter how many new threads start up here, in the end you will be standing in LA d1 spamming: wts...................

9-14dmg........15g, high bidder, none
14-27dmg.......601g, high bidder, leng bagoda

That is why it would suck. people would fill it with crap.

You can have limit on how many things you can put and then have a limit on the kind of items, like they have to be decent (with mods, not clean unless special type like fellblade/chaos axe/etc.).

no. all people should be ableto sell their stuff. just have sort functions like mods, dmg, and color (white, purple, gold, green), and of course weapon type

Its not up to us to decide what's possible or not. It seems logical to set a limit to the amount of items one person can put in auction though. What I have in mind is no auction like in ebay with lists. I would like to use the existing in game item information, somehow like this:

The item used for auction is set in the auction box and stays there until the auction is over. Accessing the auction is like going to a shopkeeper: You see a list of item ICONS. By moving your mouse over it, you get the description. Sellers dont type any information! It works the same as looking at items in a shop. Eventually players can sort, e.g. on weapon type or class or rarity. By clicking on an icon you get a trade screen where you can bid. So no lists at all

yeah everyone would be putting up common materials...

too many common materials to keep track of seriously.

are you saying guild wars arnt gonna make more feature becuase of bandwith? or just that for the auction house coz i like it
